our District Commissioner,
Thomas K. Gibson
on being awarded
the First Capital
District Award of Merit,
the highest district award given to an
adult scout leader.



The District Award Of Merit is
awarded to an adult scout who demonstrates outstanding service to
youth, completes training as outlined by the local council, serves
actively for at least five consecutive years, and is currently
registered with the Boy Scouts of America as an adult leader.
Tom has previously recieved the Cub Scouter Award, the Cubmaster
Award, the Comissioner Key Award and the Distinguished Commissioner
Service Award. Additionally, he is a fully qualified instructor of
adult leaders. Tom has served more than eleven
years as an adult leader and more than eight years as a youth in both
Cub and Boy Scouts..

There were more than 100 adult scout leaders in attendance at the award
ceremony,
held Wednesday evening, April 28, 2004, at the Holiday Inn banquet
facility in York, Pa.

Michael T. Kiesinger presents the District Of Merit Award to
Commissioner Thomas Gibson, as Kelly Gibson, Bob Inners, District
President, Shaun Donavan, District Executive, and Walter Lee, District
Director offer congratulations.
