HI! My name is Barbara Mowery. I'm the chemistry laboratory coordinator for the Physical Sciences Department at York College. My job includes teaching lab sections, supervising student laboratory assistants, maintaining inventory of chemicals and supplies, and monitoring safety practices.

 This picture was taken at Star-Kist Foods in 1979. One of my duties was analyzing tuna samples for histamine content, which can cause unpleasant tingling sensations when eaten. Notice that safety practices were not as stringent then. |
